New Children's & Educational Coordinator
An Announcement from the Elders:
As elders, it is our job to see needs in the church and make decisions based on those needs. As we have recently evaluated our youth program, we’ve found there is ample opportunity and room to increase the numbers in our younger children’s program. We need help bringing new families to Highland and sharing the gospel, while growing our children’s program.
Starting in June 2025, we plan to revamp our children’s program and have hired Kanvas Phelps to serve as our Children’s & Educational Coordinator. Kanvas is no stranger to Highland, or to the Columbia area. She will be tasked with growing our children’s program, with help from the congregation. The month of May will be busy for Kanvas, as she will graduate from Freed-Hardeman University and then marry her fiancé, Noah Davis. Kanvas is incredibly qualified for this position and comes highly recommended, as she has served in the same role with the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ over the past two summers. She has a plan and is ready to hit the ground, running!
The elders are thrilled she has accepted this opportunity to join our staff as Children’s & Educational Coordinator! Please be ready and willing to help in any way as we begin this endeavor, and as she begins this new role.
